Audio Skips On Playback After Burning to DVD

Engineer_VII

Question

Have an annoying problem

Using Slideshow assistant on a Dell, running XP, all software and drivers up to date

Plenty of memory and disk space

Creator 2009 SP4 applied

Created a slideshow, plays perfectly on PC. Audio sounds great, slides display great.

Burn to DVD and everything looks wonderful until about 90% of the way through, then the audio goes dead for about 5 seconds then keeps playing where it should.

Tried slowing down the burning

Tried different brand of DVD (Memorex and Maxell)

Checked MP3's, they play perfect.

This slideshow is for a very important event in July.

Need help!

Need fix or planning to return Creator 2009 to store.

Thanks for reading..... Engineer_VII

Another person has logged the same problem - zj74. So you can not say it is 100% no other problems! I have turned off all other programs in trying to make this work. I have a good understanding in how computer work -> Engineer. Who are you to know all of the answers?

I have tried the recommendations in the other thread. None of them work. There seems to be many people having this same problem. Maybe there is a bug in the Creator 2009 software.

You tried the suggestion in post #7? How was the audio in the resulting mpeg (or wmv) before burning it to DVD?

PS: Wow, except for a few changes in words here and there, your original post (post 1 above) lifted zj74's original post (reprinted below). If that had been a part of my thesis to fulfill my engineering degree, the university would have accused me of plagiarism. :o

Have a rather annoying problem...

Using Videowave on a fairly new Dell, running XP, all software and drivers up to date. Plenty of memory and disk space. Creator 2009 SP4 applied.

Created a slideshow, plays perfectly on PC. Audio sounds great, slides display great.

Burn to DVD and everything looks wonderful until about 1/3 of the way through, then the audio goes dead for about 5 seconds then keeps playing where it should. This happens about 4 times in the slideshow.

Tried doing a software render, tried slowing down the burning. Tried different brand of DVD (Memorex and Verbatum). Tried creating ISO to disk first and using Creator to burn the ISO at slowest speed. No difference with any of these methods.

Checked MP3's, they play perfect.

This is for my son's wedding in two weeks. Please help!!!! Any advice is welcome.

Thanks for reading..... J

Also engineer by training and frequent user of the program from EMC 7 through Creator 2009. for PC) and new user of Toast (Apple) Get off your high horse and answer the questions if you are really serious about getting help.

2 out of several million is still not considered "everyone". I never said that NOone had the problem; I said that not EVERYone has the problem.

Usually engineers are better readers than that. quote from previous post "Since 100% of the people don't have the problem, it is not a bug." How do you read that?

More likely in your computer. Since 100% of the people don't have the problem, it is not a bug; perhaps a glitch with you computer and the program. What else do you have running while making the ISO file and burning the disc? Turn off your anti-virus, e-mail, etc. Somethng is taking the CPU time while you are doing the encoding and burning. I'm going to guess the anti-virus.

You also have an identical thread going here

Starting another will not get any more helpbut just confuse the issue.

It would help if you would try some of the recommendations in the other thread.
