can I save video directly to the hard drive

Question

I am having trouble burning the video to a dvd on my lap top so I was wondering if I could save it to the hard drive and then copy it to a USB drive and burn it to a DVD on another computer? I keep getting an message saying that there was an error finalizing the dvd. I tried to type in the destination that I wanted the video to go instead of burning it directly to a DVD but I was unable to change the destination.

Please help. I need to show this video to my doctor.

Thanks for all of the help!

It might be possible to copy a video file to a USB drive but size will be a problem in that they are formatted in FAT32 and there is a 4GB limit on file size.

The program does not allow you type in a destination but there is that Browse button right beside the destination window…

The DVD error is most likely an indication that you are using cheap media or the drive may need a firmware update.
