roxio has clogged my hard drive

glasshalffull

Question

I just started using roxio ultimate 2009 and copied several dvd disks. When I got done, I noticed that my C: drive is drastically low on free space.

I'm guessing when I did the install roxio set a folder on that drive for temporary files but I can't locate it when I go into options in the roxio software.

I didn't change anything during the install so where is the default location that files are stored so that I can check it out and see if that's where I lost my hard drive space at?

thanks

Launch Videowave or myDVD and then look undr Tools/Options for the Temp folder.

What program did you use to copy the DVDs? There are several ways to do the copy, so be specific with what program you used.

glasshalffull,

What type of files did you copy from the dvd? Was the dvd a movie dvd or data dvd?

Anyway, if you are using XP, you can also search the files on C drive using Windows Explorer. Just narrow the filters to the date you copied the files and maybe use wild card file names if you know the file extensions of some files copied from the dvd.

Download and run CCleaner to get rid of all the temp, tmp and other junk files.

Although I wasn't the one with the original question, thank you so much for the suggestion. It cleared up over 10 GB of trapped space on my hard drive!

Thanks a billion (or at the very least 10GB)! ;)
