trouble burning

david h rohr

Question

I just purchased Roxio Creator 2009 and am finding it anything but easy to use.

(1) As I am loading files I get the message "One or more of the files you have selected are unsupported. You may need to install additional software to support playback of these files"

what software??? where do I get this software??? The file are all MPEG (MPG) files.

(2) If I go ahead and try to burn the disk, after it Validates the Project, I get a page full of the message "Buttons are overlapping on the menu" What are buttons??? Why should I care if they are overlapping???

(3) Then, if I try to go ahead, I usually get the message that I have "exceeded the buffer". I am loading about 2.1 GB onto a 4.7GB disk.

(4) finally, after one try I got as far as actually burning a DVD. The DVD player wouldn't recognize that there was anything on the DVD, though the computer did play the DVD.

HELP!!!!! I am running Windows Vista for Business and am generally very computer ILLiterate.

(1) Which application in Creator 2009 are you trying to add the files to? What is the source of the files?

(2) sounds like you are in MyDVD. Validate only checks to make sure all of the source material you are using exists. it does not check to see if any of it is valid and usable.

Of course you care if the buttons on the menus overlap. If they do the menu is not conforming to DVD-Video standards. This usually only occurs if you manually re-arranged the buttons on the menu. Did you?

(3) Not sure at all what "exceeded the buffer" message means. Can you note the exact error message and when it occurs.

The size of your source files [noted by you as 2.1 gb] is irrelevant. the length in time is all that matters. 1 hour will fit on a standard disc at highest quality.

(4) What steps in which app did you take to burn the disc? Were there any messages during any of those steps? You played it on the computer using what application? What type of disc is it? What is the folders/files listed on the disc?

What are your computer specs please.

Providing all of the information will help someone here try to help you.
