edbeta

Question

In an effort to provide all Toast 10 users the best possible Blu-Ray i would like if some of you would share their best settings in Apple Compressor for Toast 10 Blu-Ray creation.

Please provide all details and small screen shots if you can so all of us would benefit of this pool of experiences and get the best Blu-Ray possible at this moment on the Mac.

THere is a Toast 10.0.0.3 Beta 2 with FCP markers support, we are only waiting for Patatrox.

He said it wil be on the net in the first week of july. But I think he is on a holiday.

Haven't heard anything, also no on in the beta group 10.0.0.3 is responding, well ok, 1 or 2 persons.

Now if only i coud use the chapters markers from FCP i will be in heaven ......

Well so i will start : i have buy CramCompressor for Final Cut Studio 2 for about $39 US use the Blu-Ray preset 1080 drop it in Toast Blu-Ray.

Toast is set to never reencode and audio is set to PCM since the Cram preset is creating PCM Audio with Apple Compressor.

This output a good BDMV file with a data rate of average 25 Mbs et maximum 29 Mbs (Peak at 31 Mbs).

If you duplicate and modify the preset in compressor by selecting Blu-Ray instead of HD DVD you can select even as the maximum 40 Mbs.

I have selected 29 Mbs as average and 35 Mbs as maximum and that get me Peaks at 39 Mbs and Toast do not reencode .... never.

I have selected 35 Mbs as maximum because i shoot video with the XDCAM EX camcorder who use 35 Mbs VBR MPEG 2 HD.

Now if only i coud use the chapters markers from FCP i will be in heaven ......
