ggrussell
Assuming this is what you mean: "Open captions are an actual part of the video stream, whereas closed captions exist as a separate text stream." Creator 2009 can not do closed captions, but you can add text to video as described above. If you have a long video, it would be very tedious though. Ben Dell optiplex dual, XP service pack 2, Roxio Creator 2009, What do you mean by voice captions? a speaking video? If you can add the video in Videowave then you can add text. Text can be extended to be as long as your complete video. You will have to try an explain what you are trying to do if you some more detailed answers. Ben Dell optiplex dual, XP service pack 2, Roxio Creator 2009, The term is "narration" (I think that is what you want) and it is easy. Watch this. In fact, watch all of these rather than asking piece-meal. What you probably want to do is a combination of that narration video and this one. Larry
Has anyone tried adding captions - please explain Could you be a bit more vague? What kind of "caption" are you talking about? Text on photos? Text on videos? Please be specific.

Jim_Hardin
open or closed text captions OK, this isn’t going to go on all day! There are 30+ programs in EMC 9 and unless you start being more specific this thread will be dumped. We are more than willing to help you but you need to stop and think before you post. Larry
OK Edit video - advanced - I want to add text captions on a video track. Ok, that would be the Videowave app. To add text either click on the icon above the preview that looks like an A+ or right click on the preview and select Add Text or select the Add Text Effect option on the left side of the screen or on the Production menu select the Add Text Effect option. If what you are really wanting to do and asking about is to be able to add Closed Captioning that can be controlled by closed caption settings on players, that can not be done with this software. If none of the above, then spell it out. This isn't a 'Chat Room', it's a message board. One needs to provide enough information in a post so others understand what's being asked or answered. Jim_Hardin
Larry types faster Much better!!! Honestly I thought you were talking about the Sound Editor… Did you try the Help file? I did and didn’t see much in there specific to that. There are 2 ways to go you will have to decide which you want. In the Add Content box at the left is Add Text Effect. Click it – Choose Internal or Add to production. Internal – fills entire clip - edit by right click and choosing Edit – Internal Tracks Add to production – goes on Text track and you can adjust the duriation. bimicher
I added text to my timeline, but i could only crawl up and down. How do I get the text to scroll right? Open captions are fine. Select the text then click on the Settings tab. On the settings icon toolbar, select the "red dot" motion icon. You will then have dozens of ways to scroll, crawl,fade..... BTW, could you please tell us what program you are really using; Creator 2009 or EMC 9?
