Recorded Video Too fast

Question

Hi, I have Creator 2009 special edition with Roxio USB capture device. When I record from my camcorder, the audio is out of synch and jerky. Have tried the virtual memory suggestion, moving to usb in back, etc. The one thing that I get that I haven't seen mentioned (or just didn't find is when I play the avi file with media player the video is captured fine but runs superfast. Any suggestions?

Windows XP, SP3

P4, 3Ghz CPU

2GB RAM

I think that you are experiencing a lot of dropped frames when you capture. That would explain the out of sync issue and also the playback issue.

Did you follow the instructions for installing the USB device drivers (canceled out of the automatic driver install?) Have you installed the Creator 2009 update? What camcorder do you have? How old are the tapes?

Before you capture, make sure that you have cleaned out the junk files from your hard drive (CCleaner) and have checked the hard drive disc for malware and have defragged (Auslogics). Turn off everything that you don't need to keep running including the anti-malware AND your antivirus software. Capture in 15 to 20 minute segments.

Update the drivers for your video card/chip and update DirectX 9c.
