Dfaries
Hello...I have Easy CD & DVD Burning V6.2.1.130. I recently had my computer wiped out. I have installed my original roxio software, however, when I go to burn a cd using Creator Classic it has a error that says: There are no supported recorders available. Make sure that your recorder is powered on and that all cables are properly connnected. Also, make sure the latest version of the software is installed to ensure you have the latest drivers. Another important note is that I have also tried to use iTunes as well as Sonic Data Mobile to burn a cd and I am still getting the same "no supported recorders available" error. When I try to click the "Default recorded" icon in Roxio...nothing happens either. Can you please let me know what I have to do to get this program working correctly? It used to work fine before I had my computer wiped out (aka Windows XP reinstalled). Thanks!

I have had it fixed by a professional and given a clean bill of health. I followed the links on the Roxio site to no avail - the quoted Drive Fix link was broken - so I have emailed Roxio support directly for help. Well, since zero of three applications are finding a CD or DVD burner in your system, do you suppose just maybe there's a hardware problem? Give us some specifications on your machine, what motherboard is it? What drive is installed and does Windows recognize it as a burner and say it's okay? (Look for a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it in Device Manager for devices with "problems".) Is this a laptop or desktop system? Is there any possibility you didn't install the drivers for your motherboard? Can you read discs using the drive in question? Answer a few of these questions and maybe we can track down the problem here.

I tried Roxio, but they said that support is no longer available and - in not so many words - to update my software! I am (was) happy with V6 - it did all that I needed it to do. Any help/advice/pointers greatly appreciated.

Did you purchase the version of Creator 6 you have, or did it come as part of your original PC/drive purchase? Basically, do you have the full version, or an OEM version? If it's an OEM version, and you swapped drives, then it's entirely possible that the version you have was customized to only support that make/model of drive. Let us know.
