khamsys
I have tried to convert vcd (dat files) to dvd but on the dvd I have only one channel. I would love to have 2 channels so that I could select for music only. However, the .dat files had audio1. Any one could help me to convert vcd video karaoke(audio1) to DVD with 2 channels audio. I used Roxio creator 2009 special edition but I could not find the way how to convert vcd video audio1 to DVD with 2 channels audio.
Jim_Hardin
OK, I am not the best Audio Guy so I have a question or two… I assume that “2 Channels” is referring to Stereo Left and Right? If so how did you import this and where was it created??? I just did one from a VCD I made with ECD 5 in 2001 and it is in Stereo. I just used VideoWave and the normal Add Photo/Video button, then pointed it to the MPEGAV folder and the xxxxxx.DAT file.

The VCD I had was a Karaoke VCD when I played the VCD on dvd player to sing a karaoke then I was able to press audio off then I could sing the song. However, I tried to import the .dat files and burn as DVD. After that I took the DVD which I had burn and put the DVD player and there was only one channel on the audio; therefore, I could not select channel 2 to sing the song. to answer your question 1./ Yes , I refer to stereo. 2./ I used Roxio Creator 2009 create a DVD by import the xxx .dat files from the vcd and burn to dvd by select audio Dolby Stereo AC 3 2.0 and MPEG1. However, when I completed and played on DVD and I press audio button to select the channel and there was only one channel.
ggrussell
Most likely the VCD has 2 audio tracks - both being stereo. What you are doing is choosing which track to hear. Unfortunately, Videowave or MyDVD does not support multi-track audio.
