Adding Audio files to Creator 9

nosocialism

Question

I owned Photoshow before it was owned by Roxio. It was a fun and easy to operate program for Slideshows.. the problem was - I could never add my personal music that I bought and own on my computer. It is NOT like I'm going to SELL my slideshows they are for personal home/family use. Sooo, Photoshow bored me when I could not add my own music. Then I bought Roxio Creator 9 - I assumed it would let me add my own files. ( I own alot of songs but they are stored in ITunes and I learned under a CDA mode?) Out of 100 songs that I have bought and stored on my computer only 2 it would let me add and let me tell those two made the difference in my mini family production than the stock audio files that Roxio GLADLY lets you put in your videos/slideshows - but I dislike them immensely - is there another way, or do I have to return my purchase, to get more control of my music? Help

So which is it that you bought, Easy Media Creator 9 or Creator 2009? They are not the same. I'm guessing it's Creator 2009.

In either case, you can use your own audio files in projects, just not directly from iTunes (usually), as that's breaking the agreement with iTunes you agreed to. You can use audio that you have ripped (extracted) from audio cd's to your hard drive (even those cd's burned with iTunes for example).

A .CDA extension indicates you are looking at the audio pointer (usually seen on an audio disc when browsed thru Windows Explorer), not the actual audio file. that's why you can't use audio directly from a CD for example, because you can't access the actual audio file. Thus you have to rip them to your hard drive in that case.
