capture interrupted

Question

I have copied one VHS tape with no problems but I'm having a problem with the 2nd tape. There is a section on the tape where there is "snow" on the VHS tape and whenever we get to this part the capture stops and I get a message that there is no signal. I tried setting the capture length long enough to bypass this but that didn't work. When I try to pause the tape and restart the capture I loose part of the recording. Is there anyway to get this product to record the "snow" and keep going?

I doubled checked and it is updated. I think that is why my first tape worked, it was from years ago when i had old 8mm movies transfered to VHS. The only problem with restarting the capture is that the "snow" is so close to the recording that the capture is loosing a good amount of the recording. But if there is no way around it then there is no way around it. :(

You are not following my suggestions…

With VCR, get as close as you can to the start of good recording and pause. Then slow forward until the first frame shows and pause.

Start the V2D Record and then hit Play on the VCR.

You can edit the trash later in VideoWave.

Have you applied the SP2 update?

Oh yeah, i did that first thing after i installed the software.

Double check!

Open the V2D app and click on Help – About

Does it show this???

Note the subtle way they slipped SP2 into the Version number ;)

But even with SP2 I don’t see anyway around this. You will have to manually Fast Forward and adjust to where the next segment starts then Pause. Start Capture and hit Play.

With a clean tape there is No Signal between recorded segments. If it could ignore the lack of signal and keep going it would completely fill your HDD!

This is one of those things where every “solution” presents a new set of “problems”…

What is the SP2 update? I did download the latest drivers.

Click on the SUPPORT (top of this page) and select Software Updates and then select your product ( Easy VHS to DVD).
