From a 16GB card in a Canon HFS10 video camera, Archive to DVD (i.e. archive "raw" .mts files to multiple DVDs) appears to be working then stops with the message
"Only 98 movies or slideshows can be written"
In this case a "movie" is a clip, most of which are about 12 - 20 seconds. Toast calculates it will need 4 DVDs (I agree, there is about 15 GB to store), 98 "movies" total about 1 GB.
What is the "magic" of 98 - is it related to a 99 chapter limit when creating BluRay discs?
I have tried to submit a query to Roxio, the automated reply says read the manual. I do, there is no mention of a 98 movie limit in it!!
I regard .mts files as akin to RAW files in still photography and hoped that the Archive to DVD option would be a good method to make secure copies of my videos before I start in on them with Final Cut Express.
