Momsince2001
I copied pics and videos all onto one DVD with my Roxio DVD burning program. Now to be sure this is a true backup of the files on my PC, I tried to copy them back to my PC from the DVD. I found the way to copy the videos but it didn't want to read my photos, it says it only reads media and that I need to change the filter settings. To change the filter settings, click the filter for media types button. It also says: There may be other types of files in this folder. Media Manager displays only media files. There is no such button labeled to change filter settings, however there is a "photo" button, but even in this mode it displays this message, so I'm guessing I need to filter it somehow, but I have no clue. there is no explanation in the manual, and looking in every file in the main menu there is nothing else that allows me to import photos from my DVD. They will import directly from a camera, scanning, etc...but not from a DVD. This was the only mode that I found and it's not working with this filter I can't seem to change. Someone who knows the program please let me know how I can filter it. Apparently this is not a user-friendly program or I wouldn't bother posting in this forum and just figure it out myself. Thanks. I'd like to add, I created this DVD using the myDVD Express part of the ROXIO program, is that maybe the problem? Should I be copying it to my DVD in another fashion if I wish for it to be properly copiable to my PC by the ROXIO program?

The bolded statement indicates you are not using Venue or Qflix (the area you posted in), but likely have some form of version EMC 8, 9, 10 or Creator 2009. So as malatekid also asked, please post which product and version number you have so this post can be placed in the proper area. Since yo used some version of MyDVD, what you actually created was a DVD-Video disc which is formatted to be played in a DVD player. That will convert any video files and pictures you used ion the project into DVD-Video formatted video. It does not retain your original files on the disc. From your post, it sounds more like you are wanting to make backup copies of some video and picture files on a disc that you can than later copy back off the disc if needed for something. So if you can please explain just what you are trying to accomplish, someone here can offer some advice on how you can accomplish it.
