Easy Vhs to Dvd

cwham

Question

When caturing vhs clips, the files should be stored in a file on the computer's hard drive. However, when I go to the EDIT program, the storage file I selected is empty. If I close down EASY VHS to DVD and open that file, the clips are all there. Can someone give me the reason for this, and how to correct it?

Not really following you, you need to learn to speak the language.

Files are stored in Folders

You need to explain “storage file I select is empty” and the last sentence in more detail???

OK. In C drive I have a folder called "Home Movies" that I have selected for the film clips I have captured from VHS. If I select this folder toview, all my film clips are there. When I am in Roxio's software program

(easy VHS to DVD'), and I amm attempting to edit the film clips, I get a drop down showing my C drive. I must select the folder holding the clips. When I select the folder "Home Movies", it is empty. If I close down the Roxio program and go to the C drive and select "Home Movies", the clips are there

What extension do the files have when you can see them?

OK, getting the picture now :D

When you capture, your files will be AVI (DV) or MPG (DVD HQ).

When you click on Edit it takes you to VideoWave. I think(???) what is happening in VW is that you are clicking File – Open. In that case it will only see VW Project files that end in a dmsm extension.

To edit a movie clip in VW you click on the Add Photo/Video button. It then will see All Video files.

An alternate way to load a clip is to use Windows Explorer and just drag the file onto the Timeline or Storyline of VW.

Thanks for the info. I'll work on that angle for a while. If I still don't get it, I''l get back to you if you don't mind.

Hooray!! I had to resort to dragging th clips to timeline, and that worked fine! I am forever in your gratitude. I hope I don't have any trouble getting the clips to a DVD after editing, or I will bw screaming for more help. Thanks again!!

After Edit – save the VW Project (dmsm)

Then when you are in MyDVD, add the VW dmsm files and not the actual clips!

The dmsm files are like notes describing what is to be done to the file and actually don’t contain one frame of video nor is your original file changed in any way!

Look at the How To tips in Creator 2009 as well as those in EMC 9 & EMC 10 for other useful tips. No point in re-inventing the wheel
