Digitize LPs and Tapes doesn't run when clicked on home page

I am using Roxio Creator 2009 Special Edition sp4 (the software had a USB video capture device bundled with the package). After installing, regestering, updating, I started the program and clicked on "Digitize LPs and Tapes". The wait icon appeared for 2 or 3 seconds and nothing happened. I tried several different ways to open the program, but nothing worked. What is "special" about RC 2009 SE? Are some of the programs disabled? I uninstalled and re-installed the program and still had no luck. What's wrong and what do I do about it? I am using Vista Premium Home Edition (all updates are current). Thanks for any help.

Yes. When I ran it, it said nothing needed fixing, everything was working properly.

And did you follow the instructions after you applied the fix?

I did: 1. Clean install (got error message about EMC 10 content).

2. Applied hot fix (got message that the registry didn't need fixing). No other instructions were given on hot fix.

 

Now, do I do another clean install or do I try to install Creator 2009 immediately after running the hot fix.

Try the normal install and see how it goes.

You need to do a clean install.

Thanks for the info. I followed all the steps exactly but it didn't work. Now I get an error message the EMC 10 files are missing and the installation is rolled back. I found the info about that error, downloaded the file, but it said the registry setting was good and didn't need fixing. I've tried a clean install 3 times to no avail. What's next?

Was the fix you downloaded for Creator 2009 the content disk error hot fix?
