Videowave won't Import mpg after capture

jonnyparks

Question

I use Roxio Media Import to capture video from analog tv tuner card.

I use Videowave to edit the captured mpg

My tuner card is HP ExpressCard Analog TV Tuner pluged into

ExpressCard 54 slot and it works fine with Roxio Media Import.

My problem is the captured mpg files wont load into Videowave editor.

Error message: (One or more of the files you are trying to add cannot be edited and have not be added.)

Captured mpg play just fine using several media players including Sonic CinePlayer.

I have been using Creator for several years and never had this problem.

This problem happened before the software update so I uninstalled completely

and reinstalled 2009sp4 hoping to solve issue but the mpg files still aren't loading.

Everything was working fine until recently.

Now, when I try to import the captured mpg in Videowave, I get an error message.

(One or more of the files you are trying to add cannot be edited and have not be added.)

Also, the preview file option won't play the mpg video files.

Below is the info for one of the captured mpg files created by Roxio Media Import

Think back - had you installed or updated something on the computer? Be careful with those shareware codec packs. I've seen them do more harm than good. I had to format my boot drive once because of those. Creator 2009 comes with all the codecs it needs for importable file formats except Quicktime which needs to be installed separately.

If your problem was fixed by installing this codec pack, then I would be worried how it happened. Videowave should have no problems importing MPEG 2 files.
