Capture

Question

I followed the instructions implicitly, installed the Service Pack 2 update, installed the drivers as was recommended by a tech with whom I chatted. I am unable to click on the Capture Now button and no picture shows on the mini screen above the Capture Now button. My computer (Vista) has a TV tuner. The TV tuner is the first option on the drop down menu (ATI AVStream Analog Capture)...then the USB 2861 Device. While the TV ATI AVStream Analog Capture is highlighted, the TV channels are playing in the mini screen...everything looks fine, audio is good, and I can click on the Capture Now button in that setting. However, when I switch to the USB 2861 Device, the screen goes dark and the Capture Now button is inoperative. I am using the S video plug...but the Composite plug doesn't change anything...the Capture Now button doesn't work regardless of the settings.

Very frustrating! Any advice would be most welcome.

The Capture button will never light up unless it has a signal…

You can look through cdanteek’s post at the top and match his pictures of the drivers to yours to confirm you actually have the drivers correctly installed.

I would stick with the RCA cables initially to keep it on even footing. Try different USB ports on your PC, many are underpowered and will not drive the device.

Will your ATI card allow RCA input?

Thank you for responding. I will look through the pictures as you suggested. RCA cables? Are those the red, white, and yellow? Sorry, I'm a novice! I will also try different USB ports....I have tried the ones on the front of the computer. Good question about the ATI card...how would I find that out? Again, thanks!
