NO SIGNAL?

dbc120

Question

Loaded software and yes had USB device plugged in when I loaded software...all wires are hooked up from my VHS-C camcorder to Roxio device and I can NOT get a signal??

Using "yellow and white" connection and NO video shown in capture because all I get is NO SIGNAL.

This has been anything but EASY!

Have you installed Service Pack 2 as recommended in the pinned posts at the top of this forum? Have you read some of other pinned posts there?

You should also have a red connector to get the proper audio (red and white are audio and yellow for video)

Guru,

This is a brand new roxio EASY ...RIGHT off the shelf and out of the box....why doesn't (didn't) it come with everything I need to work???

Why do I need to now go add some service pack???

Why wasn't I prompted to do this?

Where do I down load it?

And FYI I DID use a different cord with RED connected.....this program is a sorry excuse for being EASY!

How about a toll free phone number from Roxio?????????

You think UR getting a clue how angry I am with this thing!

HOW COME THE Roxio USB PLUG-IN doesn't have some kind of light signal confirming it is working???

Cheap memory sticks do this for crying out loud...

Would that have been so difficult to include???

I have a feeling mine "out of the box" is defective but without a light or signal coming from it how would I know??

Yeah....so why does roxio suggest in my return e-mail in reference to my ticket complaint to not only visit this forum but provides a link!

If you ain't a roxio tech then sorry for my wrath but they obviously do NOT want customers contacting them too EASILY!

I get plenty of audio (even without red connect) but NO video and STILL no signal even AFTER downloading the SP2...

Thanks for the number my guess is I will reach automation (if I am lucky) and just more BS!

I will never buy another roxio piece of crap product again!

P.S. I STILL think I have a defective Roxio plug-in device but how would I know???

OK...

As expected- I called Roxio toll free # and got a recording "after business hours" I also was told to "again" visit this forum as well as their "support site" which coincides with this from the e-mail I previously referenced:

Also, check out our User Discussion Groups and find out how customers like you fixed their problems by asking other customers or the sage advice of our expert Gurus.

We'll be in touch soon,

The Roxio Support Team

So who among you on here is one of THEIR (Roxio) expert guru's???

I still have a deadline to meet for MY customers and am stuck with a DEAD (useless) $60 "easy" vhs2dvd program that only gives me a NO SIGNAL message over and over again! No matter what USB port I use, no matter which different camcorder, digital camera or vcr I plug-in....NO SIGNAL???

Help!

Did Windows XP right off the shelf come with SP1, Sp2 Sp3 or Vista with Sp1, Sp2 ...?

You need to get the SP2 service pack to get VHS2DVD to fix the "No Signal" problem.

You were not promted to do this is because when your "software" box was produced the problem was not yet recognized.

Where to get the SP2 is listed in the pinned posts at the top of the forum if you were to bother to read them instead of whining.

None of us here are Roxio employees.

You call yourself a Digital GURU but apparently you can't read...

I DID download the SP2 pack...AND STILL "No signal" which means you have NO CLUE what is wrong.

You also chose to ignore the e-mail I got stating "Roxio Gurus" are on this forum!

As to the whining appears via your pic you have been the one wining and pretending you actually know something that would be of help.

Later...

Are you using Vista or XP, if it's posted above sorry I missed it..

We need to know that to see if the correct drivers installed for the device...

Now do you have the USB device plugged into a USB 2 port, preferably a rear port on your PC?

cd

Yes, I have plugged the USB device into rear ports and "every" other USB port I have and then did it on 2 other computers as well.

STILL NO SIGNAL! Used other video out sources and not just one camcorder...STILL NO SIGNAL! Switched cables including using the RED...No signal!

Uninstalled, re-installed software...NO SIGNAL!

If I actually reach a Roxio tech LIVE person today via the phone number maybe they can troubleshoot it over the phone....If I end up getting referred back to here via automation instead of live tech then so be it.

Way too much time wasted on this Roxio garbage product!

P.S. Sorry to have offended but to have been referred here BY ROXIO claiming there are Roxio experts online that WILL help and then to get feedback that ignores (repeats) the things I already did...well...couple that with missing a promised deadline for a customer and maybe you get an inkling of my frustration and anger at this product....justified or not...and I have read MANY similar unhappy posts online!!!

Yes I had read the article and none of it applied, both my laptop and pc are usb 2.0 and have core 2 duo processors, I also installed as instructed.

Interestingly Windows Movie Maker will play and import my videos in black and white and alas without sound. I've become rather frustrated with this product and wish I'd thought to Google it first, I doubt I would have purchased it had I read the very many negative reviews it has.

Call Roxio, and ask them to walk you through it. You obviously have something, on your computer, blocking proper installation, or use of the product. Maybe they can help you.
