Roxio Changes order of Play list

Hamoomche

Question

A large project was completed of recording 16 files, about 3.5 MB. Th files were numbered 1-16. All files were set up yo be burned by Roxio Creator 2009 as audio DVD. Keeping the order is important. On completed DVD the files are mixed. No command was given. This happened three times in a row. What's going on? How do you prevent this from happening? Also in each case the play lists were in two groups 1-8 and 9-16. I want the final list of all 16 to be listed in order. Why does this happen?

How are you viewing the final disc? If you are using Windows Explorer, view order is a function of WINDOWS. Doesn't matter how they are actually burned.

Audio DVD? Be more specific. Which app are you using and what steps did you take?

The final disc is viewed after putting it into my Sony DVD/CD unit, hiting the menu button and seeing the playlist on the TV screen. The app used is the Roxio "Burn Data Disc" in Creator 2009. The list was assembled from 16 recordings, created in Audacity, Acon Digital 4 and Roxio Digitaze recordings. They were all saved after editing in seperate folder on my HD. To insure the recordings were properly listed each was number from 1 to 16 in the title line.

Why don't you use Music Disc Creator to create your "Audio DVD".

Since you are creating a "data" disc the sorting is done to the Windows sorting algorithm. If you want the sort to go correctly you have to number from "01" to "16" and not from "1" to "16"

Thanks for the input. 01-16 was used.. I've since tried 8-10 more experiments. I can't say I'm happy with the results. First, there is never a complete list of all 16 selections. (This happens to be all the Schubert String Quartets in numerical order.) Roxio seems to have it's own odea of how they should be listed. The best I get is Tracks 1-8 and 9-16. I can't find anyway to edit the background on which this is shown. I chose one that has a violin on it. The name Schubert Quartets comes on OK but I can't put on the name of the quartets. My objective is to have on DVD combinations of recordings each with it;s own heading and track list. For example, 16 Schubert String Quartets, 6 Beethoven Symphonies, 4 Bach Brandenburg Concertos, 12 Bach Preludes and Fuges with Glenn Gould. Each should be shown like a "chapter" which can be opened and all the tracks from that group would be listed. Roxio promotes 40-50 hours of music on a 4.7GB DVD. I want to use it. Where is there a tutorial that will help me get what I think is the way to go.

Have you tried the "Create DVD Music Discs" option from the C2009 Home page? It might do what you want. I was able to setup a music DVD using the songs from 2 CDS (ripped to mp3s) with each CD as a separate menu item from which you then select the song.
