Creator 2009 Repeatedly configures

AugieD

Question

Installed on Dell Inspiron 1545 running Vista sp2 Home Premium.

After what seems to be a successful install as I can run it with no problems found to date, however when I hit any keyboard button I get a window stating " Please wait while Creator 2009 configures" I have let it run its coarse and I have aborted it with the same results. Why is it repeatedly reconfiguring?

Anyone have any solutions?

:angry2:

It took me at least 3 clean installs to get this product to load and now you say I have to do it again. I have been loading programs since 1984 and never have had anything like the problems I have had with this product. Looking at the number of issues on the group posts I am not the only one having this problem. It would seem that Roxio, or someone would come up with a clean up script because the clean install procedure is very time consuming. And by the way there are a couple of different versions on the post.

I guess I have to say thanks for the quick response even though I don't like it.

No you don’t, have to say thanks

I had a new drive that refused to install twice so I reformatted the drive. It went on that time!

Then the HDD failed a week latter so I got to do it all over again when its’ replacement arrived :(

Yes it would be nice if Roxio wrote a EZUninstaller!

It wouldn't be needed if they had a better installer :D

One more though... If you are using a Reg Cleaner on your PC it may be killing something in Registry that is needed! I never use one so I don't think of that too often.

I just went through the clean install again, Twice, with the same results. The first time I forgot that .net Framework 3.5 sp1 was not compatible with Creator 2009 so I had to go and uninstall that. You are right the installer is atrocious to be kind. I keep saying this outfit has had my last business but I think I have finalized that decision. I do use system mechanic occasionally but have never had a problem with any other product. It is a thought though. Very frustrated.

There is not any consciences on what to do with .NET 3.5 & its’ SP1… I just installed C2009 yesterday on a PC that already had .NET 3.5 AND SP1 installed. It works great! (XP SP2) It is already present on Vista SP2 before you start...

Yet that same PC a few months ago would not install C2009 unless I took .NET 3.5 off???

(I had to reformat that PC for some other reason that had nothing to do with Roxio)

Anyway, there is still something that in interfering on your PC???

Yes System Mechanic has the potential to wreck it but unless it runs all the time, it would only happen after it was used.

Try 2 other tricks – yes another Clean Install

Create a New Account on your PC with full Admin privileges.

Copy your Roxio disc to your HDD and install it under that account from your HDD. (if it is a download, just do the New Account)

Just a reminder, it is Friday so if you were going to call Tech Support (I’m just another user) before the weekend, this is the time!
