Error when Trying to Import Data

markfagan

Question

I've burned a multi-DVD backup of my digital camera files using Creator Classic (Version 8). I'm tyring to append more files to the last disk. When I click on the "Import Data" icon, I get a cryptic "Error Importing Session From Disk" message, but no explanation as to what the problem is.

When I check the disk properties, it's showing the disk as Appendable, with plenty of free space.

Is this a problem relating to the multi-disk format? I could easily burn only single disks, but obviously this requires more steps.

A multi-disc project is not really appendable. Frankly for all the problems associated with them, I would never trust anything I value to one…

If you read these boards for any length of time, you will notice that no one ever posts about problems with using Classic and a Data CD or DVD project set to Read Only! They are rock solid and the only way to archive data. You have to do a little more planning to set up a set of them to stay within the disc size limits but it is well worth the effort.

I suggest using Creator Classic with DVD+or- or DL media (assuming you have a drive that can burn DL) and make sure you change the project setting to UDF102 and NO Bridge (File--Project Settings) and chose NOT to close the disc.
