Trouble burning an audio CD

cernes

Question

:) I'm using Toast 7.0.2 and am trying to burn an audio CD on Memorex CD-Rs; however, a message indicating "not enough space" keeps appearing despite the filie size being well below 600MB. The audio (not music) files are Quicktime MP3s that I want to use in my car CD player. Can someone please help? I've tried the Roxio support site and the manual yet was unsuccessful in finding the solution. Thanks!

You say you're trying to burn an audio CD. These can hold up to nearly 80 minutes of audio. The file size of the MP3's is irrelevant. If you are trying to burn less than 80 minutes of audio and getting this message, then I suggest choosing Save as Disc Image from the File menu. Toast will write a disc image file to the hard drive. You'll be able to see if its file size is less than the 700 GB limit on a CD. If it is, you can burn it to CD using the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window.

You also can choose to burn an MP3 CD in Toast if your car player supports MP3 discs. Toast doesn't do any MP3 encoding so all your tracks must be in that format before additng to Toast.
