Do you get any error message when it fails? Do you have DirectX 9c installed? Do you have QuickTime installed which I believe EMC 8 needs for some of the codecs. Initially I would just use Videowave with one of the quicktime movies and render it to a mpeg2 file until you no longer get any error.

Error 80004005 - Error While Encoding Movie. yes i have directx 9c installed and i do have the latest version of quicktime installed. besides, roxio won't even let you add a movie if you don't have quicktime installed. i guess i can just use videowave and see if it works...will post my results later. You don't need QuickTime installed if your movies aren't MOV files! But, since yours are, download and install it.
