Question

i have roxio 8 and having a problem encoding quicktime movies.

it'll start the process to encode my dvd, which contains 1 slideshow and 9 movies.

it'll finish encoding the slideshow but when it gets to the movies it will fail.

i tried burning it to cd and to an iso file but still no luck.

I've also downloaded the menu hotfix but still doesn't resolve my issue.

pentium 4,

512mb

geforce 128 mb gfx card,

memorox 8x dvd writer

winxp sp2

norton antivirus

all drivers have been updated as they are new.

Do you get any error message when it fails? Do you have DirectX 9c installed? Do you have QuickTime installed which I believe EMC 8 needs for some of the codecs. Initially I would just use Videowave with one of the quicktime movies and render it to a mpeg2 file until you no longer get any error.

what kind of quicktime movie? H.264? MPEG 4? If you go to Window -> Show Movie Info, what's listed in Format?

Error 80004005 - Error While Encoding Movie. yes i have directx 9c installed and i do have the latest version of quicktime installed. besides, roxio won't even let you add a movie if you don't have quicktime installed. i guess i can just use videowave and see if it works...will post my results later.

You don't need QuickTime installed if your movies aren't MOV files! But, since yours are, download and install it.
