Hi Carl--If you can give us some aditional information about your computer and especially if you are running anoy other Roxio software programs. And I am assuming you are referring to the Roxio Program "VHStoDVD" that you are having problems with. There is a separate forum for this program, so if this is the case, you should post your problem in that forum.

I'm not sure if you are aware but you cannot run Roxio C2009 with VHStoDVD as they are not compatible. Also when you get to the screen where you suggest there is no signal (in red), what options are showing for what driver the program is using for the signal ?

Maybe this is a stupid suggestion, but be sure that your USB device is connected to the Video and audio out plugs on your VCR. THese are the plugs in the back of your VCR that are now leading to your TV set. This means that you may have to disconnect your TV while you do the transfer, but you should still be able to monitor the tape on your computer screen. If your USB device is connected to the plugs on the front of your VCR, these are video and audio in plugs and probably won't work.
