don't knopw how to convert LP's & cassetts to CD's

Question

I bought the Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5 and like a dummy I didn' read the sysstem requirements so then I had to buy home XP. I want to put my LP records and cassetts on CD's. Could someone please tell me how I can go about doing this. There is no manuel. Here I have spent $200 for nothing. I have over 1000 records and cassetts that I want to copy. When I first got started into this project I had the Spin Doctor which was great, now they only have spin doctor for a MAC, which is dumb. Could someone give me step by Step instructions on how to accomplish this task? It would be greatly appreciated and also get my husband off my back!

Further if you could e-mail me the instructions it would be appreciated. My e-mail is Neita.Cross@cebridge.net I can't check this web site at work, but I do check my e-mail. In the subject just type Roxio. Thanking you in advance for your help.

Well, here's hoping you'll check back here from home.

To start, these boards are probably trawled by various bots, looking for e-mail addresses to spam, like yours, above. Click on the "Edit" button below your message and you can get rid of it before any more bots find it, unless, of course, any e-mail is good e-mail.

Then, there are several approaches to capturing your audio. You can use the LP & Tape Assistant to capture, or do it directly from Sound Editor, or start Music Disc Creator and click on the "Record Audio" button. Make sure to set your capture mode to .WAV file, 44.1Khz, 16 bits, stereo. Don't use a compressed format like .MP3 if you want to retain all the fidelity you can. Next, in Sound Editor, you can use the "Clean Up Audio" option to help reduce hiss, clicks, and pops. (Personally, I would capture an entire side of an album, do the cleaning first, and then split out the individual tracks.) Split out and name the individual tracks (again, to .WAV files), then record to CD in Music Disc Creator.

Hope that helps!
