Question

Hi guys,

I read that videos made with DVD Builder (roxio 7) are much better in quality than with My DVD( roxio 8). The encoder in roxio 8 is not as good as in roxio 7. Is that the case for everyone or for just a few people? I purchased roxio 8 because I wanted the 16:9, dolby digital and some other features.

I made one video which wasnt so great but it was recorded with my digital camera ( canon powershot sd 450).

So what can be done if I want good quality and 16:9?

Some people seem to have better luck with 8 than others. My quality is acceptable but not as good as 7.5 however, make sure you use the Best quality setting and start with the raw, dv-avi file if you can. Do all you edits in Videowave and go directly to MyDVD or choose Output Production to a dv-avi file so that you can then import that into My DVD and, hopefully, get better quality.

There's a bunch of very smart video people here that will hopefully give you better advice as I'm not as knowledgable as they are but have had good luck with the above process myself.
