Blu-Ray Plug in insall

Red Rocket

Question

My dell came with roxio premier creator Blu-ray 10.2 and I bought the blu ray plug in . I bought and downloaded it , but itwill not Install. I get a message: " Roxio high-def/blu-ray disk plug in setup was interrupted. Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, please run the installation again".I contacted roxio and they sent me to a knowlage base that had me Uninstall "Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1". I did that and I still can not install the blu ray plug in. I keep getting the error message: "Roxio High-Def/Blu-ray disk plug in setup was interrupted. Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, please run the installation again"

I contaced Roxio, and they sent me to the knowlage base that had me Uninstall "Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1". I did that and I still can not install the blu ray plug in.

I contacted Roxio again, and this is the reply: 1.) Disable your startup items a. Hold your Windows key(bottom left of keyboard) and press the letter 'R' b. Type 'msconfig' and click on the 'OK' button or press the 'Enter' key. (For Vista you can type it into the search field) c. Select the 'Startup' tab over on the right side. d. Write down which items are checked, and then click on the 'Disable All' button. e. Click on the 'Apply' button and then click on 'OK'. f. Click 'YES' to restart the computer. g. When you reach the Desktop, you may receive a message saying 'you have used the 'System Configuration Utility' to make changes to your system....', if you get this message, simply place a checkmark in a box on the lower left side titled, 'Do not show me this message again' and click on the 'OK' button.

NOTE: To reverse these changes, follow the above steps and select 'enable all'. To optimize your computer you may want to check the items you really need to start when Windows starts like your Antivirus.

I disabled all in the startup tab, restarted my computer, verified that all the items that were checked were still disabled. I then tried to load the Blu-ray High def plug in CD ( it had just arrived in the mail) and received the same message as before. (I keep getting the error message: "Roxio High-Def/Blu-ray disk plug in setup was interrupted. Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, please run the installation again")

I then uninstalled my Roxio Premier Creator Blu ray 10.2 and reinstalled it. It installed fine with no problems. I can write data to a Blu ray disk. I then tried to load the Blu-ray High def plug in CD and again received the same message as before. This Blu ray plug in will not install.

Will this Blu ray High def plug in install with Roxio Premier Creator Blu ray 10.2? ( which came with my computer) If so, why will it not install?

I have contaced Roxio support again, but no reply as of yet

Thank you

1. You already have a version of DELL Premier BD 10.2. So what are you trying to achieve with purchase of Bluray Plugin?

2. If this was recent purchase, which plugin did you purchase, this or this

I want to author Blu ray movies from my HD home videos. I was not able to do this with my Roxio, so I contacted them, told them what I had (Premier BD 10.2) and this is what they sent me: 'Roxio Creator 2009 Highg-Def /Bu-ray Disk Plug in'

You should have a "MyDVD" application which should give you an option for Bluray in addition to DVD. The Creator 2009 Highdef/Bluray plugin is not compatible with any version of v10.x and will only work with Creator 2009 version.
