When I edit videos in videowave the video will start and if I try to make a start point or end point and even scroll through the video the screen freezes. Anyone know how to solve this issue???

Listing your system specs, similar to how I have mine listed, in my signature, will be a good start.

It may be a video issue. Laptop, or real computer?

How long in time is the video you are working on? What format is it, avi, mpeg,.??

Could you explain exactly what you are doing? From your original it seems as if you are trying to "edit" while the video is playing. That will of course "freeze" the video

I am trying to take music videos and edit them down to 1 minute in length. So I only show clips of them. Some of the videos are AVI other are MPEG's. I had no problem on some videos then all of a sudden it decided not to work. I had ROxio 2007 and had no problems, but you could not use MPEG4 videos on it so I upgraded. The videos are running while I am editing the lengths maybe I will try and not have them running while adjusting the start and stop points

If the video is running and you try to edit/trim, the video will of course stop. How else would you be able to set a "trim" point?

BTW, there never was a program called Roxio 2007. You may be referring to EMC 7

I know it will of course stop. I mean the whole program stops running. It freezes and I can not do anything besides hit ctrl+alt+delete. The application says it is still running and I am not receiving the "Not Responding" response. I just end the program that way. I am starting to get aggravated with this. I am sure it is the computer and not the program. I run Photoshop CS2 on this computer so I would think it could run this program. Any other suggestions.

I just know the Roxio program I had was a few years older than the program I have now.

In Video Wave (Edit Video-Advanced) go to the top menu and select tools, options and put a dot next to software (render). Try again.

HD files take a long time to load so you have to wait longer than for SD files. Usually you see the video load and you think the file is totally loaded but it is still loading the audio. To prove this, click to show hidden tracks and then click on the native track. Now click on the icon just to the right of the microphone (below the preview). Add the video and watch as the audio loads after that. With music videos, this may be even slower because of the complexity of the audio track.
