Hi. I've burned some data DVD-Roms for a friend of mine, using the "Mac & PC" setting. The DVDs are fine in general but one problem keeps occuring: if the file name is too long on my end, it cannot be recognized/opened on his. If he shortens the name and restores the suffix, he's OK.
So, here are my questions: How many characters can a PC file name handle? Is there a way--beside me manually shortening the file names--to automatically have the program locate files with names that are too long, shorten them enough to include the software's suffix?
Are there any other solutions someone can recommend?
