MyDVD stuck at encoding

schokkwave

Question

I had to change my VOB files over to mpeg, and that allowed me to finally build a project. When I went to burn the project, the encoding and project completion bars stay at 0%. I let it sit over night, and it never moved. What now? I can't believe how much trouble I've been going through to get this program to operate properly.

Pentium 4 3.0

1 Gig RAM

RADEON x600 256mb

23 out of 60 Gig harddrive space open

Did the production preview okay in VideoWave or MyDVD? Have you tried burning it to an image (ISO) file first, then to a DVD, using Disc Copier?

Yes i previewed it, and it looked fine. I also tried to make an ISO, and the same thing happened.

I've had the same problem repeatedly.

Maybe my experience can get you further down the road with this monster. I used msconfig to diabled everything and the .iso image was created successfully, one of the problems I noticed is that error messages occur only late in the process after 4-5 hours of operation.

If you are doing multiple dvd's from .vob recording devices like the sony dv film you need to do them one at a time to get feasable results then use an alternative program like to burn them, although i am trying again now with roxio (i just know this has got to work sooner or later)

If you are using XP you can monitor the task videowave, I notice when I am hung the cpu doen't move above 10-15% if that helps.

try to write it dvd-vob or divx style, that sometimes produces results I can use to plug into other programs also.
