i have my windows player 10 as my default player, since installing Roxio Suite 8, its been acting wierd wheen i try to view short clips on the web, like ebaumsworld ect.. any advice?

in the "EMC 8 - Install / Uninstall / Update" section there is a topic "Internet Video Files" where there are a couple of solutions. Before un-installing emc 8 (which usually corrects this problem, I would suggest you try one of the solutions in that topic.

Good luck.

You are welcome.

To bad this solution is not "pinned" at the top of the forum. There is a much older posting somewhere on the same topic (that is where Patarox posted the fix) and it had a couple of thousand "visitors" the last time I looked. This would seem to indicate to me a lot of people are looking for a solution so why not pin it?

If everything was pinned, that folks thought should be pinned, all new messages would be pushed to page 2. That wouldn't be a good thing. :)

I was not implying that everything should be pinned to the top, just those items with a very high occurances judged by the number of posts and number of viewers. A large number of viewers of a "problem" topic would seemingly indicate many had a similar problem and were seeking a solution. This is the third topic on this very item, does not such repetitions push new messages down the same as a "pinned" message? To me a better solution would be to have a "we have resolved this" or "solutions" page/topic area. Which forum an item is pinned to is very subjective, I see posts in one forum where a solution is pinned in another forum, in order to make sure a solution does not exist you currently have to surf all the forums.

There is one forum, forget which one, where the number of pinned soultions is doing close to what you describe.

I regret that I may have left the impression that most solutions should be pinned. Another wild thought, if the problems (common problems) did not exist or were corrected with updates/bug fixes the need to pin "fixes" might be reduced. Please keep in mind, I am not knocking EMC 8, I like it greatly, but it took much effort to get it working correctly. It was not a simple install and use process.

I suggest that when anyone post a problem and the suggestions that come back in helping with it, solve the problem for the OP, in many cases never comes back to the forum and lets everyone know that the problem was solved. If that would happen it would most likely stop a lot of the similar posts. When I see some original poster come back and let everyone know that the suggestions solved the probem for them, it's just a good as when the post has been locked.

To me this forum with all of it's ability to help with all the various programs it offers, is a wonderful thing. I hear many complaints about Roxio's programs on this forum but believe me, There are way, way more people helped with a problem than there are complainers. And that's a very good thing !!

I hope everyone else is as appreciative as I am for the time and dollars spent by Roxio to continue to have this forum.

Frank....
