I just got a new DV-camcorder and tried making some DVDs.
I previously have successfully made DVDs before from my Mpeg-2 capture card and thought I worked out all the bugs.
I downloaded a 1 hour video from the camcorder using the Video Capture program.
I choose MPEG-2 as the file format, however I'm not sure if that is best for this type of download.
After choosing the video using My DVD and adding a menu (no chapters) I immediately went to DVD burning.
The encoding went along as normal. Then it when on to the burning phase, which also seemed normal except that around 28% done the computer stalls and the burning seems to start and stop without burning (burner light flashing occasionally). After about 5 minutes the indicator jumps to %100, says it done and I get a window with the DVD drive letter. The disk is listed as blank although you can see it was written about 1/3 of the way. I have done this several times now trying different quality settings, deframenting, deleting temp files, etc.
I have two hard drives, with one just for video and buffer, and 1 GB memory.
I also defragement all the time and have all the updates
