My DVD project says complete but DVD did not burn

ravecrusader

Question

I just installed EMC 8 and had used version 7 prior so am pretty familiar with how everything works. With version 8 I am using MyDVD and went to burn my project. EMC 8 goes through the process of encoding and what not. When it gets to about 98% overall and starts the burn process which last all of 3 seconds and says complete with the ok button on the bottom. Problem is the disk is blank and never even spins up. I have two DVD R drives and it does the same thing no matter which drive I use.

Need Help.

Create a disc image for your project first then burn that disc image with Disc Copier. If the encoding is complete, you should be able to save the disc image in your hard drive.

When you click on drop down menu, it should show your drives AND Browse forr Disc Image/DVD-Video Folder. Another way to burn disc image is to use Burn Image under the Copy tab in Roxio Home.

When I do this how do I save the project so it can be found? When it is in MyDVD project format and I try to use browse for disk image or burn image the format does not show up..

Did you use myDVD to create the image file (it should have the filename you gave it with the extension iso). Did you not specify the folder where the file was stored? If not use Windows Explorer to search for files with the extension iso. Then you use Disc Copier to burn the iso file to the DVD. I don't understand what project format you are talking about, the project file has nothing to do with the image file

Realized what I was doing wrong. Now it tells me a DVD-R is not a recognized format in my drives?

Why yes they are

I am currently burning on a plus R disk...will update soon

Anyway I can get it to recognize -R as an accepted format?

What is the make/model of your DVD burner?
