mrford
It seems as if the option to convert a video file to a MPEG1 has been removed in EMC 2010. Does anyone know how to do this? (from a .vob file on a dvd).
mrford
VCC has other output options also. You need to choose output then the custom button bottom right.. cd Thank you again. I tried MyDVD and sure enough, it did have the option to create a mpeg1 file, however it was forcing me to burn it to a cd when I really wanted to create a file on another hard drive. So I looked futher and found that Videowave would let me add the mpeg2 movie (or the original vob dvd file!) and then output to a mpeg1 file which is just what I want to do. I'm waiting for the file to create, seems to be slow starting, most likely because I'm currently converting a mpeg2 to mpeg1 using Pinnacle studio 12. I've been using pinacle 12 for a year or so for making videos as it almost never crashes whereas my old roxio 2009 used to crash all the time. I still like all the extras in Roxio EMC, like this file conversion utility. Thanks again. Thank you again. Oh I forgot, VCC should allow me to create a mpeg1 file, but I never saw where it would let me create one, it began with a mpeg2.

Rendering with both Pinnacle and Roxio at the same time is ceratinly going to tie up your system. For me that would be a no-no BTW, you could have easily created the mpeg1 file in myDVD, it does not force you to burn to a CD.

cdanteek
Possibly, I'm trying to get the screen size down to mpeg1 size, (i think it is 400 x 352 or close). Open MY DVD and choose VCD, it will make a VCD in Mpeg 1 352 x 240, if that is what you want? In Videowave you can output as and choose different resolutions.. Why not tell us in detail exactly what your trying to do or want to do? cd

I was trying to use Roxio copy and convert and it did not give me the option to save as an mpeg1 file, it began with a mpeg2 which would be too large for my particular application. Next time I'll compose my question while at my editing machine where I can be more specific.
