No audio in video inout

Seatoad

Question

I bought and installed VHS to DVD yesterday and it worked fine. Today the audio input will not work. I spent the better part of the afternoon trying all the suggestions from support chat with no cure. The connections from the VCR work on the TV so there is either a problem with the software or the Video Capture USB has failed. I have downloaded software updates and reinstalled both Creator 2009 and the Driver software with no help. Has anyone had a failed Capture USB? If so how can I go about getting it replaced.

Thanks.

Clear my head on this…

You have Creator 2009 and the Roxio Video Capture USB device???

You do not have V2D or if you do have it, you don't have it installed???

Go through cdanteek's pinned post at the top here and make absolutely sure your drivers are a prefect match for the ones in his screen caps!!!

Thanks for your response. I have creator 2009, ordered it with new HP laptop which arrived 3 weeks ago with Vista 64 bit home premium. I installed Easy VHS to DVD by downloading the driver software as recommended rather than use the installation DVD. It worked fine. I imported a VHS video from my VCR and edited it into a DVD. I wanted to improve the resulting quality and the next day bought an S video cable and hooked up the the capture devise with the S video cable and the appropriate audio connectors. I can now only get video input. When I connect the same connectors to my TV they work for both Audio and Video. I tried going back to component video connector but audio will now not come through with it either.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software as well as Creator 2009 with no improvement. I'm beginning to believe that the capture devise has failed. Have you heard of such a failure

I do not have V2B.

It is totally confusing what you have  You say you C2009 installed and you also installed VHS to DVD. That is a no-no since the two programs cannot be installed on the same system. Later on you say you do not have V2B - what is that or did you mean VHS to DVD?

Follow all of the instructions, here:

http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=41967

And just to be clear…

Install Creator 2009 and Do Not install anything from V2D!!!!!!!!!!

There is a download for drivers that work with 2009, Here. Use that.

Also since this topic has nothing to do with V2D, we will get it moved to the Creator 2009 area.
