Roxio Creator 2010 - Missing certificate file

snafu169

Question

Just thought I'd post this in case it helps anyone else.

If you get a certificate error:

"The Certificate file is missing or has been corrupted. Please re-install it."

This KB article from Roxio advised what to do... Roxio Help

I deleted the file but it did not work, I was about to uninstall and reinstall...but was reluctant to do so because it took about an hour the first time ( or seemed like it).

Anyways, upon initial install I did not register because my firewall blocked it...so I fixed that first, then registered...all the way through ending with confirming in the email.

Next I followed the steps to delete the file ( you may have to end any Roxio programs in the task manager)...Restarted the computer and it worked.

I also have this installed on My G drive (external Seagate), I though that was the problem at first.

Roxio Creator DE 10.2 Vista Ultimate SP2 on a Dell Studio MT435

McAfee is disabled.

Same error - "The Certificate file is missing or has been corrupted. Please re-install it."

This occured after having to re-install the OS for other reasons.

I tried the clean install process a couple of times, no help.

Any ideas?
