Help Again!Cannot add music in timeline view!

kqawami

Question

Okay....I need help again. Just when I think I am getting the hang of this, something else happens. I created a slideshow of still photos and three color panels with text. Then I created an image file and used Disc Copier to copy to disc. Played it on a brand new DVD player (Mp3 compatible) and the music is choppy, skips beat, and sometimes does not play at all. So I go back to VideoWave, delete music in timeline view, now it will not let me bring music back into. It does not even let me highlight the music box in yellow.... When I click on add background music, I chose my file, then a box appears that ask where do I want to insert the music, I select music track and nothing happens. Still NO music....This is frustrating.....I have gotten lots of help from all of you on the forum and hope someone can help me...Do I need a patch to insert music??? Did'nt need it before!!! Help is greatly appreciated!!

First, if you created a DVD from an image file using Disc Copier, it should not matter whether your DVD player is MP3 compatible. That only comes into play if you created a MP3 music disc, which is totally different from a DVD. Does that DVD play correctly on your computer DVD drive? If so, then it is probably a compatibility problem between the brand/type of disc and the DVD player.

Second, rather than clicking Add background music, click Show Media Selector in the Tools window, navigate to your music files, and then drag that file to the music track. See if that works.

Finally, some folks on these boards have had trouble with MP3 files. If your problem persists, try opening Sound Editor, importing the MP3 file, and then converting that file to a WAV file. That has worked for some users.

Hope some of this helps.

Yes, the DVD plays correctly on my computer...But, I tried burning my project to a DVD-R blank disc and it would not take it. So after doing some research, I found out that I do not have a DVD burner, so I had to burn my project to a Maxell CD-R blank disc. Do you think this may be the problem? What other disc can I use since I do not have a DVD burner? In regards to the music, I finally got to add music by sending my project to my DVD. All of my songs I converted to WAV files, so I will try burning again and see if this fixes my audio problem. Just read my DVD player manual and said that it supports Compact Disc Digital Audio, Compact Disc Digital Audio, DVD Video and MP3. So does this mean it will not read my CD-R? Sorry for all the questions but all this audio stuff is confusing...I'm not to bright when it comes to audio...Thanks in advance for the input and will try using Sound Editor for converting the rest of my music.....

That box (at the left with the word music) will turn yellow only after you have added the music. Also make sure you are not adding the music to an internal track. Internal tracks will be yellow completely across your screen. If you add music to an internal track, it will play only the duration of the image selected. If you have added one or more pieces of music to internal tracks they could be overlapping the music on the native music track.
