Toast problem

valter

Question

Hi Guys,

I am trying to copy a DVD movie (on media) but I am having problems. It's a DL (8GB) media.

First I tried copying VIDEO_TS files with Toast but without success. The media does not play on Mac's DVDPlayer.

So I tried with a iso file and without success too. DVDPlayer does not recognized as a valid DVD media.

Even VIDEO_TS files or iso file can be used on DVDPlayer without problem so the binary file not seems to be the problem.

I am using Memorex DVD+R DL, the only one that was working on my MBP.

Now I will try to use Popcorn but I think it will not be different of Toast results.

I have 2 DVD units: intern and extern on my MBP. These 2 supports DLayers media.

I really don't know what is the problem. I tested another VIDEO_TS files (from another movie but not a DL) and it's working.

When the burning process finished it's not show any kind of error.

Please if you have kind of suggestion I'll appreciate.

Thanks in advance

Valter

Thanks, I will test your suggestions. My Toast is not 9.0.7 but older. first I will test your suggestions and so try to upgrade Toast.

Again, tanks!

When copying a non-encrypted DVD I recommend using the Copy window and first choosing Save as Disc Image. Then use the Image File setting in the Copy window to burn your duplicate DVD.

When working from a VIDEO_TS folder and not wanting to modify or compress its contents, choose DVD-Rom (UDF) in the Data window, click New Disc and add the VIDEO_TS folder. Now burn your DVD.

I've read of problems with video DVD discs being read when burning with Toast 9.0.7. If that is the version you are using install an earlier version of Toast 9 and see if that makes a difference. You can have multiple versions of Toast on your computer together by renaming the folder they are in.
