Automatic Chapter Detection

Titanbutterflies

Question

I am new to using creator 2010 however I have spent the past year using MyDVD plus 7. I have had to manually select the chapters and decided it was time to upgrade to a program that will automatically detect my scenes/chapters and setup the buttons accordingly.

I shoot home movies on a canon digital camera that uses mini DVD's. I copy the mini DVD information onto a regular DVD so we can reuse the mini's. When I insert the DVD into my PC, Window's media player automatically detects the chapters my camera setup.

In the creator 2010 user guide, it states that MyDVD is supposed to recognize scenes that are imported (if they exist) and ask me if I want to keep these. I have looked everywhere for a setting or something to trigger MyDVD to do this (since it is not currently) and I have been unable to locate anything. Customer support sent me to a discussion that asked a similar question but it doesn't help me with my situation. I was hoping someone has experienced this or has some insight.

I know how to manually mark my chapters. I don't need instructions there. I need help with what the software is supposed to be doing and isn't. I was really looking forward something a LOT less manual.

Thank you so much for any assistance you can give,

Using myDVD, add the video file. Select the clip on the timeline and then click Edit Chapters and the Edit Chapter window will open where you can setup the chapters manually or use scene detection to create chapter points.
