bimicher
They are jpegs and they are pretty big file. I batch convert them from raw images at mid quality jpeg. I create the slide show in wave. Have not tried deleting proxy files... May also have something to do with vert vs horz. It seems to be radom as if it were running out of ram but I have 12GB? mmmmmmmmmmmmm What format/size are the images that go blank. Are you doing any editing of them in Video Wave? Where do you have the project in Video Wave saved? Try first deleting the proxy files - top menu, tools, options, clear proxy files. Any difference? If not, add one of the images that go black and double click on it to open the photo editor in Video Wave. Do anything -- sharpen, change brightness (not enough to notice), etc. When you close that, does it go black? If not, when you go to burn in create DVD, add any other slide shows/video that you want and then select to burn to an image file (ISO). Once that finishes, you can mount a virtual disc, load that image file and preview it on your computer. No need to burn until the production is OK. Use Video Copy and Convert of Creator Classic to put the image file onto the disc. RW discs will save you lots of time and money also. Hint: Do NOT use Memorex or any store brand for you final burn. To quote a post clcik the Reply button and then type your text after the "quote" string You did not answer the question about size: pretty big files is just too vague to mean anything. "mid quality jpeg" also tells us nothing. Be specific: what is the file size?

"mid quality jpeg" also tells us nothing. Be specific: what is the file size? I have reduced the size to under 500KB 30% quality jpegs. (original 21MP raw image) Same problem. I tried clearing proxy and smaller jpeg files. Could it be one of the settings on the video card? it is the only thing I can think of? thoughts? I am not burning- just watching the render for black frames. odd thing is it sometimes renders 60% before the problem starts...
ggrussell
At this point, it seems to be an issue with certain nVidia chipsets and/or the drivers. No one with ATI cards have had this issue.

grandpabruce
Do you think Roxio will come up with a patch for people with the the new nvida cards? Since Nvidia changes drivers frequently, I don't think Roxio will be coming out with a patch. One change of Nvidia drivers could mess up any patch. The best thing that could happen is to have Nvidia and Roxio get together and work on a fix for Nvidia's drivers.
gmcmahan
I was having some performance issues with Roxio Creator 2010, so i updated the drivers on my NVIDIA GeForce GT 220. Since updating the drivers I can't even open Roxio without the screen going black and getting the "Display Drivers Stopped Responding" message. After recovering, it continues to fail and recover as long as I am running Roxio. "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Recovered Display Driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 195.62 stopped responding and has successfully recovered" I have uninstalled and reinstalled creator twice and have installed the SP1. So far since purchasing my new computer and buying Roxio Creator to edit my AVCHD videos, I have been very frustrated. Any Ideas? Thanks Gabe Windows 7 64 bit intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 8 GB memory
ggrussell
Weird thing is that this doesn't happen with ALL nVidia cards. IN another thread, the user went back to older 7300 card and the problem went away. In another thread, the user upgraded to 9800GT card and it was fixed. Since you have a newer card, this is starting to look more like an issue with nvidia drivers.
ggrussell
The problem can be fixed by installing an earlier version of the Nvidia graphics drivers - Version 182.50 (178.24 & 175.19 also work).Go back to older drivers was posted as a solution in another thread. That's the only advise I can suggest until something is worked out.

Gary R
YOu can test that out by adjusting the settings in the driver. Usually, that should just be set to "Use Application settings" and that works for most cards. I believe the software is having a problem with jeps that have been crop or shot as vertacls... still can't make it work.

Could the card acceleration be to fast for the software? I know that most likely makes no sence...
