Create DVD with photos only

Question

Is the VideoWave area the best place to creat a DVD with still pictures (jpg) only? Will I be able to add loop music?

VW & Slideshows??? Absolutely!!!

File – Production Settings, is where you set the default duration.

Or you can click an individual picture and select Trim.

Transitions seem a little funny at first. If a transition is set to 5 seconds, then it starts 2 1/2 seconds in the duration of the slide before it and runs 2 1/2 seconds into the slide behind it…

So before you paint yourself into a corner, slap a bunch of pictures in a Test project, tinker with transitions, make notes and burn it onto a DVD RW (reusable) and see what it looks like.

Got it. This is exactly what I was looking for. I'll play with it. But the Preview helps, too, right? As far as transitions and timing. We'll see...that's the easy part. I just couldn't find the interval.

I couldn't find how to set the time between still photos because the File to Production Setting is only in VideoWave, not myDVD or PlugAndBurn, etc. Somehow only in this window do you have the option to set the still photo time interval? Wonder why? You can create a DVD with photos only in myDVD but not this editing option.

I don't understand what you really mean by "time between still photos" There really is no such thing. Explain what you mean by this? Do you want to insert a transition between photos? Forget about Plug&Burn, it has absolutely nothing to do with photos

What are you trying to do?

I spelled out the 'way to do it' but you did not read it literally enough

Plug & Burn Slideshow??? Absolutely impossible!!!

MyDVD Slideshow??? Maybe but it will bite you in the end!

So I listed the only viable way to do it, VideoWave

I also showed you how to set the duration for pictures and told you how to add transitions and set their length.

Don't try to make this hard, it is really easy but you have to learn to speak the language. If I say 'get your waders' don't show up in your sneakers :o

I had some other software that allowed me to burn a video DVD concurrently with a still photo slideshow DVD, all in the same section of the program. It was all in the same editing window. I'm just learning my way around Roxio. I can do both of these tasks in VideoWave. All I was asking was how to set the time between still photos during playback mode. It was answered in the File to Production Settings. But I could not find this (File to Production Settings) in Plug and Burn or Create DVDs. Thank you!

The File/Productions Settings task is only available in the Videowave program. It is not available in Create DVDs.

We try to answer the questions you ask, but you keep changing the question…

Of course you can combine slides and movies in one MyDVD production.

You can even do that in VW but you are not grasping the power of the separate Editor & Authoring programs yet.

Try a browse through this post on Strategy & Workflow – Here. Also feel free to browse all of the How To forums on the site as most can be applied to V2D.

I know I can combine slides and movies in one myDVD production. I just wasn't able to set the time between still photos in myDVD that's all: I only found this option in VW.

I'll check out those other forum discussions. Thanks!

That is covered, perhaps not directly, in the link I gave you.

There are several ways of doing things based on the desired outcome...

Likewise, the desired outcome may be based on the way things can be done

That is a Catch 22 way of dodging your question :D:lol:

All of this has been covered and posted long before you bought the software but you do have to look at it :)

Don't misunderstand, we are fellow users and happy to answer questions, but you cannot expect us to retype the Tutorials and Help files every time someone buys the software. ;)

Well I appreciate your time and links for a Newbie like me! There's so much info (drinking from a fire hydrant) that it helps to be pointed in the right direction.
