Burning Problem?

Traddyman

Question

Hi there, I was just hoping that someone can help or point me in the right direction?

I am using 4.7Gb DVD-R discs, (Different varieties - Ritek, Memorex, Arita) All are listed as 4.7gb

In EMC 10 No matter Which individual part I use, Videowave, MyDVD, etc all are listed as 4.4892gb and I cannot get anything to burn now?? It has previously, but now ejects discs giving different messages -

I can make disc images, but if I try to load, I go back to same problem

Please help if issue has been encountered before

Any idea why the px3 works where the px4 doesnt?

We believe the px3 file is a complete installer for the PX engine, and so it will repair a broken install, whereas the px4 file is only an updater - it delivers the latest components, but won't repair a broken install.

Weare trying to get Roxio to make a px4 installer.

Cheers Brendon!

Having just opened the installation files, The engine showing is still the 4 series

I would therefore assume that a combination of use will help many, as it did not change the later files!

i.e revert them to PX3

but must somehow, " Fix" something? as I said,"When first installed it worked Brilliantly!"

It was only when I updated I had any Problems.

Still I'm happy now! - Thanks to you, JIM and GrandpaBruce

Troy

If it doesn't say Verbatim & Taiyo Yuden, it really isn't worth bringing home…

Please confirm you actually have Creator 2010 and not EMC 10???

All computers and even Roxio program list the same thing different ways. A 4.7 GB disc is its' hype rating. It really only holds 4.3 GB (4.4892) in computer math. ;)

We will need the specific messages so we can have an idea what the problem is.

Hi Jim,

Sorry think I'm on wrong thread line, It is EMC10 Not Creator 2010!

The Arita discs are Taiyo Yuden Blue-Dye and have worked previously!

Any help will be greatly appreciated, New to the programme but Not Sonic/Roxio

Cheers,

Troy

Troy: Thanks for getting back.

I don’t really think that your Media is the problem in this. It could be a problem for you later on, so I suggest you transition to the quality brands as soon as you can work it in.

For now, let’s try the PX Engine magic – Here

Download that one and run it. Reboot and it should go... If not, tell us the error message.

Many thanks Jim,

will update you shortly on progress! one thing I have noticed though, Whilst using My DVDExpress - Burning a disc image first - As seen from most threads I have looked at, At the Transcoding? avi - disc image. there are 2 boxes......... 1 to name the disc image, The other says Target Media?? (But is greyed out! and I cannot alter!!) it Says in it DVD-R DL Is there anywhere else I should change this?? as the discs are not DL just plain DVD-R

Troy

The DL is grayed out on mine, don't think it really matters as VCC will translate it as needed for the media you are using.

Cheers Jim,

I was just worried that was the problem! (Seeing media wrong!)

I have just tried your px 3 I will advise shortly on results! - I was using px4 when I applied all the updates - Complete later version with New key from Roxio site - As It did previously work! ok (Well Faultlessly infact I was impressed! having previously had back to 7.5 then8,8.5, 9 and so on) Burnt disc and image simultaneously then burnt images only! So tried clean install of Old version but also vista updated (Auto) to Sp2 (Image only) Updated EMC10 again! (Image only) Firmware on Burner updated, (Image only) then px engine to 4 still same results..........I know the software works-It has! Burner will still Burn CD-R fine and quick!

Trying to get hold of some different DVD-R media, but just bought 500 of these!! So would like to be able to use

Regards,

Troy

Where did you get your information that " Atria disc's are Taiyo Yuden "?

I would believe Ritek made the Atria disc's.

What is the MID, media ID of a DVD-R Atria disc?

cd

Error given was 80004003 error whilst aborting?

However I then loaded the image and it burnt to the media with No problem! - Many thanks!!

Any idea why the px3 works where the px4 doesnt?

Once again, Many thanks for your help, Would never have managed it without you!

Troy
