Audio option unavailable

RyanClark

Question

I just bought Roxio Easy VHS to DVD yesterday and installed it today. Everything seems to work great except one aspect. When I'm importing video, when I click the option to set the audio device it shows nothing but blank spaces where the options should be.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the program. I downloaded the service pack 2 but it wouldn't let me install because it couldn't detect the program, even thought it WAS installed. Not to mention, apparently the CD that came with it already had SP2.

I downloaded the recommended driver from Roxio and installed, but that did nothing as well.

I have Windows Vista wwith Service Pack 1. What exactly is my problem?

Well in Device Manger I went in and did "Let Me Pick From a List of Drivers" and picked the most current one listed for Roxio. All this seems to have done is, now in the Audio Input options, instead of blank it only offers my built in mic as the option when importing video via composite cable.

Read through this and look at the pic's real good. Then come back with the correct names and describe what's going on...

Installation occured the same as in the pics but without any errors. In Device Manager, everything is the same except my audio devices are Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 and NVIDIA High Definition Audio. Driver Details are the same as the pics.

Now, when I go into the audio capture, here's a problem, it's set correctly for USB 2861 Device, but gives an error that says "Roxio Easy Audio Capture Has Stopped Working".

So your trying to use Easy Audio Capture?

Not Media Import?

cd

When I use Capture Video is simply does not have the options in the audio part. When I tried to use Capture Audio, as shown in the pics, it gave me that error message. When I try to use Audio Capture without the device plugged in and the setting on my built in webcam, it works fine with my laptops built in mic. Doing the same thing in Video Capture lets me actually see the Audio Input options (but they can't be changed).

Where do you see a "options in the audio part" "When I use Capture Video"??

Red and White for Audio, Yellow for Composite. I don't have an S-Video cable.

Go back to the link I posted earlier and look at the three pic's below this 'Device manager and drivers for each device'

Are you sure they're the same?

The direvers are identical to the pics, however I noticed something I didn't before. In the driver files for Roxio Video Capture USB, driver files 1 (emMON), 3 (emBDA), and 4 (emOEM) do not have the little "check" icon to the left of them.

Also apparently the thing all three have in common is they don't appear to be "digitally signed".

EDIT: I reinstalled the downloaded drivers and now all of them are "digitally signed", but it's done nothing to help my problem.
