Collage Project

I have encountered this a few times now. When I try to do a collage or a project this screen pops up and states that I should - insert the content CD labelled'' and click retry-

I have re-installed it a few times and it worked for a while and now I am with the same problem any body have he final solution to fix this.anybody?

System Mechanic is the 'Registry Cleaner' and that is the problem.

 

To be blunt, these things are more hype than value! Last one I used was with Win95 yet my oldest PC is 1999 and still running w/o the need of any help.

 

However if you want it to run you have to find settings to get it to ignore Roxio.

 

I disabled System Mechanic and it seems to be OK. Thanks for your help and suggestion. You pointed me down the right path.

I would suspect an Anti Virus software or a Registry Cleaner…

 

Do both have the same AV or Reg Cleaner? What are they?

Sorry for the delay. I guess it would have to be common to both. The Av is Norton supplied on line free by the ISP which is rogers. The reg cleaner I think the software for that may be System Mechanic.

The problem seems to be when I go to do a project.

After I installed it the last time and it worked I did a system restore so now I use that which saves time and once again it works for a while.

Any ways did a virus check and OK. Did all I know. this is strange. Maybe System Mechanic could be deleting files in a clean up that are needed? Any other suggestions?

I have 2 computers 1 laptop and the other a desktop. Ibought the DVD for the laptop and dowloaded for the destop. I know what you are saying. Did that for the download. It always seem to happen on both formats. I continuue to re-install..it works then it goes back to the same problem as I previously described.

I could re-install now and it will work but what is the final solution..why is this happening?

What version of the suite do you have? EMC 2010 (boxed) has all on a DVD while older versions had two CDs (one program and one content)

 

If you have the downloaded version, you should have downloaded two files - one of those will be 'content' If that's the case, open the second one and extract the files to a temporary folder and run setup.exe from there
