Problems After I removed Creator 2010

bfm

Question

I bought Creator 2010 and it would not work on my PC. After several days of trying to get it to work, I returned it and got a full refund from Roxio.

Thank you Roxio.

However, I still have lingering problems after I have totally removed Creator 2010.

Each time I click on a file or application on my PC, I get the "Windows Installer" message box which then converts to a new window box telling me it is trying to ope the file with Roxio Creator 2010.

How does this happen and how do I get that file removed so it does not pop up each time I try to access a file?

I anxiously await a reply.

Thanks....

Checked msconfig and nothing there under any of the tabs listing Roxio.

Still having the problem each time I click on a file to open.

Go to msconfig, click on the Startup tab, and see if you have any Roxio junk left there. If you see anything Roxio, uncheck the box, and click Apply, then get out and reboot.

A job for Microsoft Installer-Clean up Utility? Perhaps something was missed.

Thanks for your reply. How would I run the Microsoft Installer-Cleanup utility?

I found the cleanup utility and nothing in there regarding Roxio.

set tools in explorer to 'show hidden folders and fies', go to documants and settings, Yur user name>, App Data and check for Roxio and Sonic folders in there - then delete them

Also, it's worth a try - right click on the file you're trying to open, go to 'open woth', set it to WMP and tick the 'always use this app' box

From your past experiences, you found that your computer wasn't up to snuff to handle the software. Why did you purchase the software again?

Still having the same problem. None of the suggested resolutions are helping me get rid of the attempted Roxio Creator 2010 Setup messages.

This has been a real mess ever since I tried installing Creator 2010 on the PC. Wish I had never bought the system now.

Thanks to all who have tried to help me.

If you are more advanced in computers, you may try to clean the registry, but don't do it unless you know what you are doing.

A good utility for this is here www.acelogix.com/download2.html

Try this http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/conte...S=set-locale=en don't do step 8.

For Vista/Windows 7 scroll to bottom of page.

Thanks for your suggetion, however, I have already done this entire process about 20 times and it still does not help.
