Bad DVD

santuel

Question

Alright here's the deal. I burned the movie file to the disc, it worked out fine and ejected fine. I took it out, put it in my DVD player and it says "BAD DVD", note that my dvd player does infact support the DVD type I'm using. So I put it in my computer, nothing happens. No video players open up. I go to my computer, open the CD and open the file manually, it works there and only there.

What's wrong here?

The question is what program did you use to burn your movie to the DVD? If you did not use myDVD then you have simply "copied" the movie file to the DVD but did not actually create a video DVD. Since you posted in the Data forum I can only assume you used something like Creator Classic to create a data DVD. A data DVD cannot be played on any DVD player.

There a way to convert a data to a video DVD?

I don't think 'convert' would be the correct term. What type of 'data'? If all you did was copy a MPEG file, then you could create a MyDVD project and add that file to it. Then burn a video DVD using MyDVD. Of course, you can't erase or change the disc you already have unless it is a rewriteable disc.
