There is no Disk in the Drive

Dan Cordoba

Question

I cannot add files to an appendable disk. When I place an appendable disk in the DVD R/W tray, Autoplay gives several choices. I select the one that says Add files using Roxio Home Data. Roxio Creator 2010 opens and a pop-up displays saying "You have inserted an Appendable Data Disk. Would you like to load contents into the project." When I click the Yes button, another pop-up displays saying "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk" and the computer freezes. How do I fix this problem?

Thank you,

Dan Cordoba

From the Home app, go to Tools – Get Disc Info

What does it say about that disc?

If you open Creator Classic, (Data-Copy; Create; Burn Data Disc-Advanced) how does it treat that disc?

It doesn't say anything about the disk other than there is no disk in the drive. I did try to add files by going through Creator Classic and it worked fine. It read the disk, asked if I wanted to append the disk. I said yes, and it went ahead and allowed me to add the new files to the disk.
