"Settings" in VW missing, need help urgently

Question

Been working on a VW production for several months with no problems. Added a small segment this morning, consisting of 9 photos and a title panel, and discovered that the only thing under the Settings tab now is Manual color correction -- no position choices, fly-ins, fade outs, soften edges, etc. Also, the little red ball (and its options to fade in and out, etc.) on the bar at the top of the preview screen is gone. I've done three clean installs today with no results. I hope I'm not being stupid and missing something obvious but I'm in trouble here. Anyone? Please. :(

Anyone else have access to your computer who may have changed your display settings?

My 14 year old grandson was on several days ago, but VW had been working fine after that until yesterday. What display settings might he have changed?

Problem resolved, though not in an ideal manner. I finally restored my entire system from a 500GB external hard drive I use for backup. VW works fine now, though I lost everything I'd done since the most recent full system bu. Better than nothing.
