Troubles With The Software

epilab

Question

I have had the same issue with the Creator 2010 I prenently have and one a rebate had to be issues.

I have done everything tech support has asked. From clean install to repair. I even tried copying to hard disk and loading from it ........ everything tried has not solved the issue. Sent all sorts of information requested from tech support. Tech support has now stopped responding. And no solution as of this writting. I have done the clean install so many times I can do it blind folded :-)

I had a version purchased purchased from Roxio that behaved the same...had to get a rebate as the disk stopped loading. My current version purchased at a local store and it is still having issues.

I am very please to see others with this same problem. Again may have to get a rebate and look into other manf available.

Go into the Control Panel and create a new user account with administration authority. Turn off UAC if using VISTA or Windows 7. Reboot your PC and logon using the new user account. Now try the installation. When finished, apply service pack 1 for Creator 2010.Creator 2010 sp1

Tried it.....roxio home page still will not open

Tried it.....roxio home page still will not open

All you have really said is Don't work without providing any details…

Without anymore to work with you can't really expect anyone to be able to help you…

Might be best if you have someone you know, with reasonable computer skills, come over and work with you.

Often with 2 people, one will spot something the other one is missing.

Another alternative would be to call Roxio through the week and work one on one with a tech.

Does not work meant ....when I try to open the Roxio program on the desktop ......it does not open... I get the "Roxio" name then it blanks out. I can open each applications by going to the program applications, but not the home page. The home page has territorials which I would like access to.

I spent 1 hour with phone tech support...they gave up.

I have 16 emails with attempted solutions....none worked. I have sent everything requested. Now I have been told this problem has moved to"the next level of support". I have offered to do one on one on the phone but no response from Roxio. I am in day 3 of this adventure

I would like to retain this software, but for solution does not appear to be an easy one. I would not like to request a refund and have to buy different software. I am stubborn enough to try and resolve the issue. Whatever is to open the home page is not working. Looking through the entire program, piece by piece I cannot locate where the "home page" is

My intention in this forum was a follow up to the person who was having the same problem listed under "Roxio Creator 2010 wont launch".....guess I should have place this under that issues

Oh don’t do that, it will just get moved into this topic…

You need to do as I suggested.

One other thought, cdanteek did an excellent picture essay on install. You might look through That and see if something stands out.

Did all that except the Norton is a bit of an issue to keep off. Again worth mentioning again is the install disk stops part way through the installation process. I have to close out the install...reboot and the installation continues. To determine if part of the install is missing I do a "repair". Then install SP1. I believe the inability to install completley is part of the problem. This has been brought to attention of tech support but Roxio support has not addressed this. I believe something is being left out . I even tried two different drives to insatll the software...just incase.

Between the first purchased software and now this being my second purchase of Creator 2010, I can almost do the clean install from memory. But to prevent missing anything I follow the directions and check of each line as I go along.

No exception antivirus has to be off, understand??

You could copy the disc to a folder on your hard drive and run the installation from there.
