WMV Conversion

johnpmoreau

Question

Hi All,

I am having a problem with converting WMV files with Toast 10. I select files WMV files from the media browser and move them into the conversion area to convert them to iTunes format. The file that is converted only includes part of the original WMV file. If the WMV file was originally 20 minutes it will convert 3 minutes worth. I am fairly new to using toast. Does anyone know why this might be happening to me?

That is a limitation of Flip4Mac's free WMV media player. You'll need a paid version of Flip4Mac in order for Toast to encode the entire video file.

You are right it was Flip4Mac causing the problem. However, I had a paid version. What I figured out was that there is a setting in F4M's preferences that controls immediate or behind the scenes conversion for applications. Once I added Toast as an application that imports files completely on the advanced section button on the player dialog of F4M's settings in system preference, everything worked fine.

Hopefully this was the preferred solution to my problem and I am not doing something wierd....
